Sports Betting Teaser
Teasers are most popular in sports such as football and basketball. The National Football League and College Football are known very well for their teaser bets. The NCAA Basketball and the National Basketball Association games are popular for this type of bet. A teaser bet is a group of straight bets (two or more) combined into one bet, where each individual line has been shifted to your favor by the number of points of the teaser. There are three main NFL teasers – 6, 6.5 and 7 point teasers. Claim your risk-free bet up to $500 at DraftKings Sportsbook. Apr 07, 2020 Like a parlay, a teaser is a wager that involves multiple games - two or more - and you must be correct in all of the games in order to cash your ticket and win the bet. Teaser bets are most. A teaser is a type of sports bet that allows you to adjust the point spread on multiple games, but requires you to win every game to cash the bet. The sportsbook isn’t giving you those six points for free, though, adjusting your payout based on how many points you’re buying and how many games you picked.
If you've been availing yourself to USA Players information pages, including the ones that explain the different types of wagers, you know what a Parlay bet is, well consider a Teaser bet a modified version of the Parlay bet. Teaser bets may appear complicated, so a good way to grasp them is to simplify them down to separate smaller bets, then look at the whole, and that's the essence of the Teaser. The objective is to offer the player the chance to bet on point spreads or game totals to lessen the overall risk to the player. Adjusting, or teasing the spreads or totals gives the gambler a greater chance of winning, however, it also results in reduced odds.
To help you better understand Teaser betting, consider this example: the Detroit Lions are playing the Chicago Bears. The teaser bet lets the gambler wager on the spread and/or the total points. First, we'll use the point spread for the contest: The gambler chooses Detroit (I heard that) to win at +15.0 points, meaning that the Lions must beat the Bears, or lose by no more than 15 points. Now, let's say the gambler wagers on the total points scored in the game, using the under option: The gambler determines the game total (combined points of both teams) to be 60 or under.
Up to this point, for this to be a winning bet, the Lions have to win, or lose by no more than 15 points and the points scored in the game have to total 60 points or under. Finally, to make it a teaser bet the gambler is offered a 7, 8, or 9 point teaser on the wager. The gambler chooses an 9 point teaser, meaning 8 more points have been added to the spread (15 + 9 = 24 point spread), and the points are added to the total 60 + 9 = 69 pt total - or under. In the final analysis, in order for this teaser bet to win, the Lions have to win outright or lose by no more than 24 points. In addition, the total points in the game must be 69 or under. As illustrated here, it's best to consider teaser bets in pieces... basing your wager decision on each individual part of the bet.
